The Human Side of AI: Strengthening Cognitive Skills for Success

The Human Side of AI: Strengthening Cognitive Skills for Success

GetMee AI Interview Ready

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly advancing and has the potential to transform society in countless ways. However, with this revolution comes significant risks and challenges, as highlighted in the open letter signed by Elon Musk and others. In this post, we will examine potential impacts of AI on society, the new frontier for cognitive development and growth, and how GetMee harnesses the power of AI to positively impact the human communication experience.

AI and other advanced technologies offer tremendous opportunities to improve our cognitive skills and enhance our decision-making abilities. But we need to be careful not to over-rely on these tools, and to remember that they are only one part of the solution

Richard Susskind, author of “The Future of the Professions”

As AI becomes increasingly advanced, some speculate it poses a threat to human-competitive intelligence and society as a whole. However, there is also a positive side to AI. It has the potential to improve human cognitive skills and decision-making abilities, leading to success and positive change in all aspects of life.

The Investment In AI

CSIRO and the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science report outlines the importance of Australia to capture the benefits of AI, estimated to be worth $22.17 trillion to the global economy by 2030. Private investment in AI reached $91.9 billion in 2022, highlighting how AI not only leads to cost decreases but also revenue increases.

Can AI be integrated with human intelligence for mutual benefit and strengthen cognitive skills for success? Highly likely. But it requires the concept of responsible AI, where AI is developed and deployed in a way that is ethical, transparent, equitable and respectful of human rights. Being a disruptor in society means being willing to challenge the status quo and question assumptions, which applies to the development and deployment of AI technologies.

With regulated bodies like the CSIRO AI listing, GetMee has a responsibility to be a responsible AI solution.

Organisations have matured their understanding of AI, shifting from a narrow focus on utilising AI to achieve cost savings, to aligning the use of AI with organisation‑wide and cross‑functional business objectives, specifically business growth. , NAIC report- Forrestor consulting. The IDC predicted that global spending on AI technologies will reach $110 billion by 2024.

As private investment in AI continues to grow, it is crucial to prioritise the human side of AI.

AI for Business

AI can improve short term and long term business needs. A report by the McKinsey Global Institute found that the adoption of artificial intelligence could increase global economic output by $13 trillion by 2030, or around 1.2 percent per year.

Australian businesses are using AI to drive both process efficiency and financial ROI. In a recent report ensuring a return on AI-related investments is critical; respondents indicated the most important consideration when looking for an AI technology or provider was the ability to demonstrate a clear Return-On-Investment (ROI).

“The biggest gap in the Australian market is the capability to advise organisations of how they need to think in terms of strategy, culture change, use cases, road mapping, designing, and evolving their operating model. I have yet to see a provider that can handle both the strategic and technical sides of the equation.”

NAIC Report

The government recognises the need for innovation in the language and communication training market and has done the due diligence not only on the economic impact but the overall commercial potential. GetMee has secured funding through the Accelerating Commercialisation Grant to accelerate product improvements, commercial activities and expansion.

GetMee has worked with the City of Melbourne, Global Victoria, and the Australian Government Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources to be part of the infrastructure to bring AI innovation to Australia. Together we are creating global strategic partnerships that will drive innovation in communication coaching through AI technology.

According to a report by Accenture, the use of artificial intelligence technologies could potentially double annual economic growth rates in 12 developed countries by 2035, increasing their economic output by an average of 1.7 percent.

AI for Cognitive Development

AI can help people improve cognitive skills through personalised learning and training. GetMee AI analyse our learning patterns, identify our strengths and weaknesses, and develop tailored learning plans that are optimised for our individual needs. This is particularly useful in education and training, where personalised learning improves outcomes. GetMee’s AI product and services are empowering people and making a positive impact, whether it’s helping them interview for a job better using GetMee Interview Ready or overall progression of life and career.

“AI has the potential to transform our world for the better, but we need to make sure that it is used in a way that promotes human well-being and helps us to address the most pressing social and environmental challenges we face.”

Aimee van Wynsberghe, co-founder of the Foundation for Responsible Robotics

AI can be used as a tool to strengthen cognitive skills and enhance decision-making abilities in individuals and for business. AI can provide vast amounts of data and information that can be used to make more informed decisions. By analysing patterns and trends in data, AI can provide us with insights that we might not have otherwise been able to discover.

AI is a more ethical and unbiased decision maker where it can identify and mitigate our unconscious biases. By analysing our decision-making patterns, AI can identify where biases may be influencing our judgments and suggest alternative approaches. The result is businesses can use AI to improve operations, processes, and various functions to identify solutions.

While AI has the potential to change the world for the better, it is crucial to consider the ethical implications, biases, and equal access issues associated with AI development and implementation. Dr. Azeez, the Head of Research at GetMee states “The AI technology innovation is a watershed moment on how we interact, how we live, how we work even how we govern one another. With more than 50 percent of firms who are implementing AI at the moment are experiencing greater productivity, AI has the potential to help economies grow, create jobs and make sure enterprises and firms are more competitive and productive. If done correctly it can help workers to be better educated, better connected, qualified and skilled. This is going to be a fascinating and exciting time.”
