Dr. Govand Khalid Azeez is the Head of Research at Getmee AI. Joining the founding team in 2020, he brings over 15 years of groundbreaking scholarship in the political economy of artificial intelligence and the macro-historical evolution of technological systems. As a Lecturer in Modern History, Politics and International Relations at Macquarie University, Sydney, Dr. Azeez has established himself as a leading voice in understanding how AI technologies fundamentally transform society, work, politics, education and social relations. His interdisciplinary approach combines deep expertise in political economy, history, and the genealogy of technological innovation to examine both the social formation of modern society and humanity’s imminent technological transformation.
Since 2018, Dr. Azeez has served as a trusted advisor across industry, higher education, and emerging economies, helping organizations navigate AI integration for workforce development, education, economic advancement, and innovation. In 2025, he was invited to join the Technology & Digital Division of the Australian National AI Centre and the Global Council for Responsible AI, while also collaborating with AIEOU at the University of Oxford on AI and education research. A former Visiting Fellow at Harvard University and Columbia University, Dr. Azeez holds a PhD and dual Master’s degrees in International Relations and Public Policy. His extensive publications in world-renowned scientific journals and recognition for research excellence position him uniquely to lead cutting-edge AI research that bridges academic rigor with real-world impact.
