Transforming Education in Yucatán: How Getmee AI is Helping Mexican University Students Build English Fluency and Global Employability
In a landmark partnership between Australian EdTech and Latin American government, the Government of Yucatán, Mexico, selected Getmee AI to deliver communication and employability coaching to thousands of university students across the state.
The initiative followed successful trials conducted with professional year students at both public and private institutions in the region. These pilots demonstrated high levels of engagement and satisfaction, and, critically, highlighted a significant and urgent demand for English language support in a non-English-speaking context.
The Program
A tailored version of the Getmee AI app was deployed across Yucatán’s state universities, giving students access to personalised coaching in English fluency, career communication, and global competitiveness. The programme is designed to align with Mexico’s federal government 2030 education strategy, which prioritises workforce readiness and international employability for the next generation of graduates.
The partnership also strengthens bilateral education ties between Australia and Mexico under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), positioning both nations as collaborative leaders in technology-driven education.
Government Endorsement
“The State Government reaffirms its commitment to connecting university education with the demands of the labour market, ensuring that young people are prepared to face the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities of a constantly changing world.”
— Joaquín Díaz Mena, Governor of Yucatán
Impact & Scale
With implementation underway across multiple state universities, the Yucatán Getmee programme represents one of the most significant government-backed deployments of AI-powered employability coaching in Latin America. The initiative is supported at the highest levels of the Yucatán education system and is expected to reach tens of thousands of students.
